New Piccies of The Bump :) and Baby Wearing

27 Weeks

28 weeks
We've been talking about the idea of "baby-wearing", that is carrying Liam in a sling so that Priss's hands are free to do everything else busy young mums do.

Friends have kindly offered advice and I'm posting these links here to refer to and in the hope that some-one may also have some thoughts and suggestions...

Mai Tai patterns, I like this simple one

Here are several more to look through

The Moby Wrap

Do you have experience of using these wraps? Any advice about where to buy them in Canada?
Looking forward to hearing from you as Liam will be born next month and will greatly benefit from this closeness to his Mum or Dad or Nan's and Aunties.

Thank you
Sue

Hi, I have used a home made version of a moby wrap, which is very easy to make, even with no sewing skills. Just google 'no sew stretchy wrap' for instructions. It can take a few tries before you get confident tying it, but it's well worth the effort since they're so comfy for mum and bub in the first few months. Many people find that they're sure fire way to get their bubs to sleep. They do outgrow this type of wrap once they get a bit heavier though. I haven't used a mai tai myself, so I can't really comment on how good they are. I use an 'ergo baby' now, which is very comfy. Lots of people also swear by woven wraps, which I haven't quite gotten the hang of yet, but hope to over time. There are so many options, so it's tricky wading through all the information. Good luck with it all.

i loved ergo carrier.

i also found that with a sling you need to invest in a few because as baby changes weight and gets bigger the way they like to be carried changes. Also bear in mind your shape will change once bub is here so the sling that seems the best in the first few weeks may not be in the end. I strongly suggest borrowing as many as possible from friends

I joined a group on Facebook on Friday and found out they have a lending library, I am supposed to meet one of the Orleans members next week and maybe go to a meet and greet :).
